Each day brings new success stories at The Bridge for Youth. We’re journey-oriented as we walk alongside youth, centering their voices and needs in everything we do.
When you make a gift to The Bridge, you help write a youth’s success story. We asked a few youth at The Bridge to share their latest successes. Read more and consider making a gift today:
An Anonymous Youth at Marlene’s Place

I wanna celebrate the peace and stability in my life.
When I got pregnant, lots of things had to change. I stopped going to school because I needed to figure things out. The Bridge was there for me when I needed to reorganize my life. I wasn’t alone anymore.
The staff gave me the space and support I needed to step into motherhood, while making sure I was doing the right things for myself. I started going back to school. Thanks to being here, the staff made sure I had transportation and kept me consistent.
Last spring, I finished my sophomore year of high school. This fall I started my junior year at a new school!
Going back to school has been a huge accomplishment for me. My goal is to finish high school and continue working on becoming the best mother I can be.

My biggest goal is to get a job. Recently, I had my first job interview!
Staff at The Bridge helped me fill out applications and made sure I got to the interview.
I am learning how to be consistent and not to give up. The staff helped me realize I’ve got a lot to offer other people. I love being me – because without me I would be nobody.

For me, The Bridge has been a starting point for my next destination.
I am on my own for the first time. A recent success I’ve had has been getting all my documents together. Before, I didn’t have my Social Security card or birth certificate. But The Bridge helped me every step of the way.
The staff walked me through the forms and even took me to the offices to pick everything up. Now that I have all of that taken care of, I feel like I’ve got my independence back.
Now that I’ve got independence, my goal is to understand my responsibilities as an adult. I’ve been focusing on doing the work to improve my family connections and communicate with others. I’ve learned how to advocate for myself.
The Bridge has been my reason for changing. The staff were my main support and made me realize I could do it.
