February Newsletter: Honoring Resilience and Celebrating Youth

At The Bridge, we know that history matters—especially the stories of young people, families, staff, and communities who persevere through adversity.

This Black History Month, we honor Black resilience, leadership, and excellence, and we call for a collective recommitment to creating a community where Black identifying youth feel safe enough to heal, accepted enough to be themselves, and supported enough to dream. Together, we create opportunity for youth to (re)write their own story — one rooted in healing, overcoming, and possibility.

Throughout this month, youth and staff at The Bridge will engage in thoughtful and meaningful programming that celebrates Black excellence and resilience. To kick things off, we welcomed our friend Brother Ghana to The Bridge for an afternoon of lively drumming and movement, followed by a delicious meal from Soul Bowl.

Thank you to our commUNITY for standing with us and celebrating Black History and Excellence – today and every day. Click here to read more about what Black History Month means to us.

The resilience, strength, and determination of youth at The Bridge is unmatched. In 2025 alone, 84% of youth were in school and/or employed, and 92% of them made progress towards their personal goals!

We’re proud to walk alongside youth at these pivotal moments. As we celebrate the start of 2026, we sat down with some of the youth at The Bridge to reflect on what they have accomplished and what their resolutions are for the new year.

“While at The Bridge, I gained more positive relationships and learned how to advocate for myself. Now I feel like I am in the right spot to achieve my goals. The Bridge has empowered me to make positive choices for myself with a clear head.” – Jessica, a Youth at Resilience House
