Together in commUNITY on June 2, 2024
Our third annual commUNITY Juneteenth block party celebrated Juneteenth and amplified Black excellence and liberation. Many heartfelt thanks to our community of partners and supporters who attended. Our community unified for an afternoon of music by DJ Brian Lansing, cultural exploration and
performance of African Drumming by Brother Ghana, crafts and activities centering Black History, community resources, mentorship opportunities, delicious food from Black-owned businesses, and more. We were so moved to see The Bridge for Youth neighborhood filled with so many families and friendly faces together to celebrate this day of Freedom.
Liberation is love at The Bridge for Youth. We deliberately gather in commUNITY to recognize the importance of Black Liberation as we commemorate Juneteenth; honoring this time to share stories of resilience, resistance, and liberation, and to uplift Black joy. As you celebrate this day, we invite you to intentionally breathe, reflect & rejoice as you give yourself permission to slow down because here, in commUNITY, you can.
