This third annual event will be held at the beautiful Hutton House on Medicine Lake on Thursday, April 25th from 6:30 – 8:00 PM.
Celebrate the strength of mothers and young families at The Bridge alongside our board members, commUNITY partners, and generous supporters as we hear powerful stories of hope and resiliency from youth.
Enjoy special guest performances and complimentary appetizers from Fork and Flair Catering, with drinks available for purchase. We hope you will join us at Sprout as we build community and raise funds in support of young families.

Special Guests
Sheletta Brundidge, Emcee
Sheletta is an Emmy award-winning comedian and radio host. Aware of the serious lack of diversity in traditional media and frustrated by her own inability to find a seat at the table, she decided to build her own. In 2020 Sheletta created SHElettaMakesMeLaugh, a podcast, promotions and production company. Sheletta has risen in stature as an influencer, social media phenomenon, and activist for people with autism and entrepreneurs.
Jamela Pettiford, Musical Performer
Jamela Pettiford learned at a young age from some of Minnesota’s best musicians and singers. Throughout the years Pettiford has been featured in many bands and music groups, joining the Big John Dickerson blues band inducted into the “Minnesota Blues Society” Hall of Fame in April 2007. Throughout 25+ years, Pettiford has combined deep-rooted soul all while enhancing, edifying, and encouraging the community.
Marea Perry, Guest Speaker
Marea is the Executive Director of Secrets2Truths and The Bridge for Youth Community Healthcare Worker. She is a devoted mother with a passion and dedication to youth development and is committed to community change through her work as a social, criminal, and racial justice activist. Her dedication to health and wellness services helps to provide aide in the calming of the mind, body, and soul, teaching communities of color healthy, proactive preventative restorative self-sustaining wellness skills.
Janae, Youth Speaker
Janae (she/her) is a former youth in Gloria’s Place, member of the Hennepin County youth advisory board, and mother to her two-year-old daughter, Esme. Janae’s journey with The Bridge began as a pregnant youth in need of emergency shelter that could support her throughout her pregnancy. Through her resiliency, Janae and Esme were able to find safe and stable permanent housing and now live happily in their own home. Janae and her daughter continue to utilize The Bridge for resources and community events. Janae is currently applying to colleges and aspires to be an orthopedic surgeon.
