TRANSITIONS AND RITA'S HOUSE
The Transitions program is an innovative housing and support program for 16−17 year old youth who need extra time before reconnecting with family or transitioning to an alternative living space.
Teens share a bedroom with another teen. Home-cooked meals are provided in the community kitchen. The facility also includes a living room, game room, laundry facility, and computer lab. In exchange, teens participate in household chores and attend once-a-week house meetings.
Case managers work closely with program participants. Together, they identify goals, find resources to achieve goals, and work through obstacles. Case managers teach life skills and lend emotional support when needed.
Youth are encouraged to continue education. Study space and tutoring assistance are available.
Rita’s House is a new intentional community providing rental housing for formerly homeless youth 18-21. Details are here.
